John Dillinger Bailey Farm Loot

Lost Treasure OH • Jackson County County
Description
Jackson County legend that John Dillinger buried about $825,000 from Midwest bank robberies on the Bailey farm near Wellston — one of several Ohio hideouts attributed to the Public Enemy era.
Historical Notes
Dillinger's gang used rural Ohio farms as safe houses between Chicago-area heists and Indiana jailbreaks. Mark Strecker and compiled Ohio guides place a Bailey farm cache in Jackson County valued at roughly eight hundred twenty-five thousand dollars. The tale pairs with Putnam County Pierpont farm lore and Lima-area sightings in northwestern Ohio outlaw treasure guides.
Status / Verification legend — Legendary or approximate
