Historical Notes
Taylor grew as an International-Great Northern Railroad hub in the 1870s. Municipal parks developed in the early twentieth century as the cotton and railroad economy prospered. Jim Gooch Park serves south Taylor neighborhoods with ball fields and picnic areas.
