Jarbidge Stage Brown's Bench Strongbox

Description
1888 Twin Falls County legend of a lone outlaw robbing the Jarbidge-Idaho stage near Salmon Dam — killed by a posse before revealing a buried strongbox on the east side of Brown's Bench west of Rogerson.
Historical Notes
The bandit was quickly overtaken and killed after the stage holdup near present-day Salmon Dam country. Searchers believe he buried the strongbox on the east flank of Brown's Bench, a broad mesa about fifteen miles west of Rogerson. Legends of America preserves the tale among southern Idaho stage-road treasure stories.
