Hoppy Eubanks Lost San Saba Mine — Comanche County

Lost Treasure TX • Comanche County County
Description
Comanche County legend of the Lost San Saba Mine entrance identified by treasure hunter Hoppy Eubanks between Stephenville and Comanche — featured on History Channel's Beyond Oak Island.
Historical Notes
Alfred "Hoppy" Eubanks of De Leon pursued the Lost San Saba / Lost Bowie mine tradition for decades, proposing a site in central Texas between Stephenville and Comanche rather than the classic Menard County location on the San Saba River. Beyond Oak Island Season 2 Episode 6 (2022) followed Eubanks's research to a possible mine entrance shortly after his death; he is buried in Hico Cemetery. Related Mason-area entries document separate San Saba and Bowie mine variants northwest of Hico. Coordinates approximate the Stephenville–Comanche corridor in eastern Comanche County west of Hico.
Status / Verification legend — Legendary or approximate
