District school at Hedwigs Hill in the late 1800s and early 1900s; served the Martin trading community on the Llano River.
Historical Notes
Handbook of Texas notes a district school at Hedwigs Hill during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, alongside as many as three churches. The Martin store and post office made Hedwigs Hill an education and commerce hub for southern Mason County ranch families.
