Heath Ranch Thirty-Two Ounce Gold Brick Hoard — Llano County

Lost Treasure TX • Llano County County
Description
Heath Ranch legend of an unrecovered gold hoard near the documented late-1890s lode mine — when a thirty-two-ounce brick from Llano County ore was displayed at a local bank.
Historical Notes
Gold ore was discovered on the Heath Ranch in Llano County in the late 1890s; two freight cars shipped to Pueblo, Colorado in 1901 assayed about $35 per ton. Mike Cox's "Llano Gold" notes a 32-ounce gold brick cast from Llano County ore displayed at a local bank — among the most tangible products of the district. Related gold_site entry "Heath Mine — Llano County" documents the historical lode northeast of Llano near the Lone Grove road; this pin records treasure-legend folklore of an unrecovered hoard near the mine workings. Coordinates mark the USGS Heath Mine (MRDS TC40206) about five miles northeast of Llano. Private property — no trespassing.
Status / Verification legend — Legendary or approximate
