Description
Historic city park on U.S. 281 with a free-flow swimming pool and bathhouse dating to 1911; popular with Fort Hood soldiers during World War II.
Historical Notes
Lampasas rose as a health resort in the late 1800s when Texans sought healing mineral waters. CCC developed Lampasas State Park improvements here in the 1930s–1940s, including the Hostess House used for USO dances. Restored bathhouse walls and flowing springs remain.
