The Rocker Box Coryell County compilation lists church treasure and gold coins supposedly hidden in or near Gholson Gap, noting the site may also lie in Lampasas County. The same entry appears on the Lampasas County page. Coryell County organized in 1854 with early Baptist and Methodist churches at Coryell Church, Rainey's Creek, and Gatesville.
