Frio River Three Rivers Aztec Treasure — Live Oak County

Lost Treasure TX • Live Oak County County
Description
Three Rivers legend of a portion of Aztec treasure buried near the town where the Frio River meets the Nueces and Atascosa rivers.
Historical Notes
The Rocker Box Live Oak County page states that a portion of Aztec treasure is said to be buried near Three Rivers. The Frio River flows 200 miles to its mouth on the Nueces River a mile south of Three Rivers, where the Atascosa River also joins the Nueces. Triple-confluence towns attract wagon-train, colonial, and Aztec cache folklore in South Texas guidebooks. Choke Canyon Reservoir later impounded the Frio upstream of the confluence. Coordinates mark Three Rivers at the Frio–Nueces–Atascosa confluence in Live Oak County.
Status / Verification legend — Legendary or approximate
