The Rocker Box Live Oak County compilation states that Spanish padres are said to have buried treasure in or near Lagarto. Lagarto lies in the lower Frio River basin southeast of Three Rivers on the South Texas Plains. Mission-priest burial caches are cataloged throughout South Texas along the Nueces and Frio drainages.
