Description
Concan legend of a lost ranch or trail payroll cached in the Frio River Canyon — the limestone gorge west of Uvalde toward Garner State Park.
Historical Notes
The Frio River cuts through the Edwards Plateau in Uvalde and Real counties, flowing past Concan and Garner State Park. Canyon campgrounds and fishing lodges have drawn visitors since the nineteenth century when ranchers first drove cattle along the river.
