Franklin Mountains Pancho Villa Buried Loot — El Paso County

Lost Treasure TX • El Paso County County
Description
El Paso legend that Pancho Villa buried revolutionary loot on Franklin Mountain overlooking the border city and the Rio Grande.
Historical Notes
The Rocker Box El Paso County list states Pancho Villa is said to have buried loot on Franklin Mountain. The Mexican Revolution brought raids, refugees, and smuggling through the El Paso–Juárez corridor; Villa folklore clusters at border crossings from Roma to El Paso. Related entries document separate Pancho Villa cache tales in Starr and Zapata counties downstream. The Franklin Mountains variant is the best-known El Paso County treasure name in regional compilations. Coordinates approximate Franklin Mountain slopes east of El Paso. Historical legend only — respect park and private land boundaries.
