Fort Henry Ruins Civil War Cache

Lost Treasure TN • Stewart / Henry County County
Description
Kentucky Lake legend of additional Confederate gold and silver buried near the submerged ruins of Fort Henry on the east shore of the Tennessee River after Grant's February 1862 assault.
Historical Notes
Union Brigadier General Ulysses S. Grant captured Fort Henry on February 6, 1862 — ten days before Fort Donelson's surrender. The fort now lies under Kentucky Lake near the Tennessee River. Compiled treasure lore lists multiple Civil War caches along the east lakeshore where soldiers might have ditched payroll wagons before the garrison collapsed. Low-water years occasionally expose shoreline features, keeping detectorists active near the Land Between the Lakes recreation area.
Status / Verification legend — Legendary or approximate
