Fort Clark Ninety Thousand Miner Nuggets — Oliver County

Lost Treasure ND • Oliver County County
Description
Fort Clark legend of miners burying $90,000 in gold nuggets on or near the historic trading post — then failing to relocate the hoard after hostilities or flood shifted landmarks.
Historical Notes
The Rocker Box Oliver County page states that miners buried $90,000 in gold nuggets on or near Fort Clark but could not relocate them later, citing Buried Treasures You Can Find. Fort Clark was a major American Fur Company post where Karl Bodmer sketched Mandan villages in 1833; gold-rush fantasies later attached miner caches to the landmark. Coordinates mark the Fort Clark historic site above the Missouri. Distinct from the twelve-bag Knife River confluence tale — legend only.
Status / Verification legend — Legendary or approximate
