Enchanted Rock Last Warriors Summit Ghost Cache — Llano County

Lost Treasure TX • Llano County County
Description
Enchanted Rock legend of a last-warrior strongbox on the granite summit — when the final band of defenders was overrun and their ghosts were said to haunt the dome thereafter.
Historical Notes
Indian tradition holds that a band of brave warriors, the last of their tribe, defended themselves atop Enchanted Rock from attacking rivals but were finally overcome and killed; since then the dome has been haunted by their ghosts. Last-stand folklore often places emergency caches on defensible hilltops in the Hill Country. Related Tonkawa and Comanche sacrifice legends at the same dome appear in separate entries; this pin records the warrior-ghost cache tradition on the summit. Coordinates mark the Enchanted Rock summit in Enchanted Rock State Natural Area north of Fredericksburg.
Status / Verification legend — Legendary or approximate
