Description
Many of the old mines in this area produced silver, copper, zinc and a by product of gold. North of Eldorado 1.5 miles is the Coggins Mine. It produced lode gold. East of Eldorado is the Eldorado Mine, which produced lode gold with silver and pyrite. Southeast of the Eldorado 2 miles on the east side of the Uwharrie River is an old lode mine.
