Dublin Dr Pepper Bottling Payroll — Erath County

Lost Treasure TX • Erath County County
Description
Dublin legend of a bottling-plant or railroad payroll cache near the Erath County town famous for Dublin Dr Pepper — on the Texas Central line between Hico and Stephenville.
Historical Notes
Dublin on the Texas Central Railroad became nationally known for Dublin Dr Pepper, bottled with Imperial pure cane sugar from 1891 until 2012. The town's vintage soda industry and railroad commerce moved substantial cash through a small Erath County seat. Small-town payroll and merchant-specie caches appear throughout Central Texas guidebooks alongside outlaw and railroad variants. Dublin lies on State Highway 6 between Hico and Stephenville. Coordinates mark downtown Dublin in Erath County between Hico and Stephenville.
