Dream Mine — Spanish Fork Canyon

Lost Treasure UT • Utah County County
Description
Spanish Fork legend of John Hyrum Koyle's 1894 visionary "Dream Mine" — a prophesied bonanza meant to sustain Latter-day Saints at the Second Coming, still promoted by Relief Mine Company stockholders.
Historical Notes
Koyle claimed angelic instruction to reopen an abandoned tunnel in Uinta National Forest hills above Spanish Fork; he was excommunicated in 1946 after earlier signed recantations. Unlike buried-outlaw loot, the Dream Mine legend foretells future ore wealth rather than a lost historical cache. Utah.gov History to Go and Atlas Obscura document the mine's enduring religious and financial following.
Status / Verification legend — Legendary or approximate
