Historical Notes
Fishers Island lies at the eastern entrance to Long Island Sound between Connecticut and New York. Compiled guides credit the Defense wreck with multiple chests of silver Continental dollars never salvaged. The tradition pairs with New London Pier ingot lore along the same southeastern Connecticut sound corridor.
