Deep Creek Range War Caches

Lost Treasure ID • Cassia County County
Description
1890s Cassia County legend of cattlemen and sheepherders caching valuables around Deep Creek and Shoshone Creek during the Diamondfield Jack range war — hidden payroll and personal wealth never collectively recovered.
Historical Notes
The Cassia range war brought hired gunman Jackson "Diamondfield Jack" Davis and multiple shootings before James Bower confessed to the killings that had convicted Jack. Legends of America says both sides buried valuables in the Deep Creek–Shoshone Creek country during the conflict. Deep Creek Peak and surrounding canyons remain a focal point for southern Idaho treasure folklore.
