De Leon Outlaw Cache — Comanche County

Lost Treasure TX • Comanche County County
Description
De Leon legend of outlaw loot buried near the Comanche County farm town — home of treasure hunter Hoppy Eubanks and his daily Highway 6 cafe gatherings.
Historical Notes
De Leon in eastern Comanche County developed as a cotton and ranching community on the route between Hico and Comanche. Alfred "Hoppy" Eubanks lived in De Leon, hunted treasure for decades, and held court daily at the Highway 6 cafe before his 2022 death and burial in Hico Cemetery. Outlaw cache tales cluster at small county-seat trade towns along the Texas Central corridor. De Leon sits northeast of Hico on the Hamilton–Comanche county line country. Coordinates mark downtown De Leon in Comanche County east of Hico.
