Cutthroat Gap Missouri Trader Silver

Lost Treasure OK • Comanche County County
Description
Wichita Mountains legend of Missouri traders burying several bags of silver coins in Cutthroat Gap during an Indian attack — never recovered from the refuge defile.
Historical Notes
Cutthroat Gap lies in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge west of Lawton, a narrow pass among granite outcrops. Treasure guides describe traders burying multiple bags of silver when attacked, then failing to return for them. The gap sits in the same mountain complex as Iron Door Cave, Devil's Canyon, and Jesse James Twin Mountains loot traditions.
