Description
South of Cornwall and just northwest of a road at Big Hill, on old route 322, there are some extensive mine dumps that have gold traces in them. Nearby that is the Cornwall Iron Mine, opened in 1742 for iron with small amounts of copper, has produced 37,459 ounces of gold as a by product since 1908, but mostly after 1937.
