Confederate Jewelry Hanover Road Cache

Description
Adams County legend of Confederate troops burying a cache of jewelry on the Hanover Road during the Gettysburg campaign — never recovered after the battle.
Historical Notes
The Hanover Road carried Confederate columns toward and away from the Gettysburg battlefield in July 1863. Compiled guides describe jewelry concealed by retreating troops along the road and never dug up. The cache complements Deep Run silver traditions in Adams County Civil War treasure lists.
