Cimarron County Gold Cache — Cimarron County

Lost Treasure OK • Cimarron County County
Description
No Man's Land legend of Captain Bill Coe burying outlaw riches near his stone Robber's Roost fortress above Kenton — including $750,000 in Spanish gold in Flag Springs Arroyo.
Historical Notes
Union veteran Cyrus "Bill" Coe led a rustling gang from a three-foot-thick rock headquarters on a ridge southwest of Kenton in the Oklahoma Panhandle. Cavalry cannon fire shattered the fortress in 1868; Coe was lynched in Pueblo, Colorado, before trial. Deathbed rumors fueled searches across Black Mesa, Carrizozo Creek, and Blacksmith Canyon. Legends of America and Jameson cite Spanish gold figures in Flag Springs Arroyo. None of Coe's reputed hoards has been reported found. Coordinates mark the Kenton–Robber's Roost country in Cimarron County.
Status / Verification legend — Legendary or approximate
