Charley Maguire Rogersburg Stage Loot

Lost Treasure WA • Asotin County County
Description
Snake River outlaw legend of Charley Maguire burying a stagecoach robbery haul near Rogersburg in Asotin County after raiding freight along the remote river route.
Historical Notes
Rogersburg's isolation by horse and boat made stage and river freight attractive to highwaymen in the late nineteenth century. Legends of America names Maguire as an outlaw who cached robbery proceeds near the ghost town after a successful holdup. The story complements Shovel Creek and Trio lost-mine traditions in the same county.
Status / Verification legend — Legendary or approximate
