Chadbert Joincaire French War Caches

Lost Treasure PA • Clinton County County
Description
Clinton County legend of Chadbert Joincaire burying several caches of French Indian War pay near the West Branch Susquehanna — one cache reportedly found, others still sought.
Historical Notes
Joincaire served as a French agent among the Seneca during the French and Indian War. Compiled guides say he buried multiple money caches paid by the French; searchers recovered one. The tradition joins Fort Horn buried-papers lore and lost Indian silver mines above Keating.
