Baltimore legend of Captain William Kidd burying treasure in or near Druid Hill Park — an urban park pirate cache at the heart of the city.
Historical Notes
Druid Hill Park is one of Baltimore's oldest landscaped parks northwest of downtown. Compiled guides credit Captain Kidd with concealing loot in or near the park before sailing toward Boston. The tradition joins Chesapeake Bay pirate lore cited from Cecil County to the Eastern Shore.
