Description
Southwest of Buffalo at the head of Kelly Creek, is the Kelly Creek Mine, Millsite and placer gold location. This area has basal sandstone of the Deadwood Formation, so a geology map of the Deadwood Formation may show more possible gold locations. West of Buffalo 17 miles in section 15 T49N R83W, is the Roe Brothers Copper Mine. The assays at this mine showed a small amount of gold with the copper.
