Baytown Cedar Bayou Confederate Cache

Lost Treasure TX • Harris County County
Description
Baytown legend of Confederate cotton and specie buried along Cedar Bayou and the Goose Creek oil field corridor — where the Houston Ship Channel meets upper Galveston Bay industry.
Historical Notes
Baytown formed from the tri-cities of Goose Creek, Pelly, and Baytown along Cedar Bayou and the ship channel. The area shipped cotton and petroleum products through Galveston Bay while hosting early twentieth-century oil discoveries. Civil War and oil-boom treasure variants describe merchants burying cash when blockaders threatened the upper coast. Cedar Bayou marshes and refinery corridors have been searched by hobbyists for decades. Coordinates mark Baytown at the Cedar Bayou / ship channel interface east of Houston.
Status / Verification legend — Legendary or approximate
