Ash Street — Llano River Access

Gold Mining Site TX • Llano County County
Description
Ash Street public Llano River access on the south bank near downtown Llano. Pleasant tumbling water over granite — a local spot for wading, tubing, and recreational gold panning.
Historical Notes
Visit Llano identifies Ash Street as one of four public river access points in Llano (with Robinson Park, Badu Park, and Grenwelge Park). The access features pleasantly tumbling water over granite ledges east of the main highway bridge. Hobby panners work fine gold from gravel pockets and bedrock crevices below the small cascades, especially after spring runoff clears overburden. Related entry "Grenwelge Park — Llano River Gold Panning" documents the adjacent Ford Street park reach. Street parking and river access etiquette apply; much Llano River frontage remains private upstream and downstream — stay within the established public access.
