Angleton Brazoria County Courthouse Cache

Lost Treasure TX • Brazoria County County
Description
Angleton legend of Reconstruction-era strongboxes hidden near the Brazoria County courthouse square and Columbia Tap railroad — the county seat south of Houston.
Historical Notes
Angleton became the Brazoria County seat in 1896, replacing Brazoria and Belle Plain on the Columbia Tap railroad. The county was a Confederate cotton and salt-meat supplier with river ports at Velasco and the Brazos mouth. East Central Texas treasure guides place courthouse-square and railroad-depot caches along the Brazos bottom counties. Angleton anchors the southern Houston metro search radius. Coordinates mark downtown Angleton. Related entry: "Holt Treasure — Alvin" to the north.
Status / Verification legend — Legendary or approximate
