Historical Notes
Andrew Meyer reportedly served as a sutler or contractor during the War of 1812 in the Canton area. Ohio compilations describe multiple buried caches on the Meyers Lake shoreline and adjoining Stark County farmland. A kettle of coins allegedly found near the lake fueled decades of additional searches for Meyer's remaining hoards.
