Historical Notes
The Rocker Box Webb County compilation describes a cache of Spanish doubloons buried near Aguilares. Aguilares was a small rail siding community northeast of Laredo on the International and Great Northern line through the South Texas brush country. Border guidebooks link doubloon tales to colonial trade routes between Laredo, Monterrey, and the Gulf. No authenticated recovery is documented at Aguilares. Coordinates mark Aguilares in Webb County northeast of Laredo.
