Abram Burnett Shunganunga Creek Gold — Topeka

Lost Treasure KS • Shawnee County County
Description
Topeka legend of $500,000 to $1 million in gold coins buried on Potawatomi leader Abram Burnett's old farm along Shunganunga Creek in Mission Township.
Historical Notes
Burnett was a prominent Potawatomi leader who farmed along Shunganunga Creek through present Topeka. Treasure guides claim $500,000–$1 million in gold coins on his former land. The farm lay in the southeast quarter of Section 9, Township 11, Range 15 East in Mission Township on the creek's north side. Urban growth and creek parks complicate modern searches, but the Burnett farm legend remains a staple of eastern Kansas treasure lists.
Status / Verification legend — Legendary or approximate
